Implementing NDCs through food systems transformation

About the event

Agricultural systems are essential for the health, food security and nutrition, and economic well-being of people around the globe. While there are many forms of agriculture that support healthy people and a healthy planet, food systems globally are also a key contributor to environmental degradation. Without sustainable food systems, the climate goal set by the international community can’t be met.

To accelerate the transformation and maximize its benefits, the transformation also needs to be nature-positive and climate-resilient, meaning regenerative. The lessons learned and findings from the Food System Summit, leading initiatives, campaigns and sectoral approaches will be explored in the session that can deliver deep, rapid and systemic transformation of the food system with a focus on integrated approaches that align with the “One Health” approach to healthy people and a healthy planet.
