Women, girls, Indigenous Peoples, and local communities have an important role to play in tackling the biodiversity crisis, however, they are often excluded from decision making about biodiversity action, which risks exacerbating rather than addressing social inequalities. The purpose of this event is to launch the new principles for locally-led, gender responsive biodiversity action agreed at a UK government sponsored conference at Wilton Park in September 2024.
