There is one ranger per 72 sq km of terrestrial protected areas worldwide, much less than what is needed to achieve effective conservation. This event will provide an overview of the current state of rangers and discuss what is needed to support and reform the ranger workforce to meet the post-2020 targets. Panelists will include representatives from the GEF Secretariat, Global Wildlife Program, International Ranger Federation, WWF, ICCA Consortium, and BMZ.
